Playground propose une lecture singulière du concept de civilisation, à travers une série de photographies renvoyant à l’étrange, voire à l’absurde, par la présence de personnages là où on ne les attend pas. Les visages se cachent et racontent, par leur mystère, l’histoire d’une ville qui semble s’effondrer.
C’est le récit fantasmé ou imaginé de l’errance de ceux qui continuent à exister dans un environnement qui ne semble plus vraiment leur laisser de place. Ils s’emparent de ce que leur laisse une ville à l’apparence hostile, dans laquelle ils évoluent, interrogeant l’individualité de chacun et la place qu’ils occupent.
À travers des images et des expérimentations en photographie argentique, le sujet flirte avec l’anonymat, mais se définit par la vision et l’interprétation que chacun se fait de lui.
Playground offers a singular reading of the concept of civilization through a series of photographs that evoke the strange, and even the absurd, through the presence of characters in places where they are not expected. Faces remain hidden, telling through their mystery the story of a city that seems to be falling apart. It is a fantasized or imagined account of the wandering of those who continue to exist in an environment that no longer seems to leave them much space. They take hold of what a seemingly hostile city leaves behind for them, moving through it while questioning each individual’s sense of identity and the place they occupy. Through images and experiments in analogue photography, the subject flirts with anonymity, yet is defined by the vision and interpretation that each viewer forms of them.
